Second Chances Program
Books are meant to be read, loved and passed along—and sometimes they’re just ready for a new shelf.
Our Second Chances Program makes it easy to give gently used books a new life at Once Upon Again. Whether you’re clearing out your shelves, making room for your next reads or simply have books you’re ready to part with, you can choose to sell or donate them to the bookstore.
Books accepted through Second Chances may find a new reader on our shelves, become part of a community event or book swap, or be used in other Once Upon Again programs.
It’s our way of keeping more books in circulation, giving great stories another chance to be discovered and making pre-loved books accessible to our community.

Sell Us Your Books
Bring in up to 20 fiction books published in 2000 or newer for review. Books must be clean, in good condition and sellable.
We’ll review your books within 72 hours and contact you with an cash or store credit offer. Offers are based on condition, demand and current inventory, so not every qualifying book will be purchased. Payouts can range from $0.25-$4/book.
Cash payouts are limited to $50 per person, per week.
Offers must be accepted within 7 days, and books must be picked up within 14 days. -
Donate Your Books
Have books you'd simply like to pass along? We also accept book donations.
Donated books may be sold in the bookstore, used for community programs, events, giveaways or book swaps, or otherwise used to support Once Upon Again.
Once books are donated, they become the property of Once Upon Again and cannot be returned.
Please do not leave books outside the bookstore or drop off large quantities without speaking with us first.
What we do not accept.
To keep our Second Chances inventory focused on books our community is actively shopping for, we do not BUY books published before 2000, textbooks, medical or reference books, encyclopedias, magazines, damaged books, or books with mold, water damage, strong odors or excessive wear.
Nonfiction, mass-market/pocket-size paperbacks, and childrens books are accepted as donations only and are not eligible for cash offers.
We reserve the right to decline any books based on condition, current inventory or demand.
Please note that Once Upon Again does not accept audiobooks, records, CDs, DVDs or other specialty media items. We also do not specialize in vintage, rare or special edition books and are unable to properly evaluate these items based on their collectible value.
